After 20 years in sports media in central Illinois, I made the jump to the classroom in 2015 as an instructor in the Department of Communication at Bradley University. Since then I have taught the basic communication writing course, digital journalism, basic reporting and sportswriting and announcing. That transition was, admittedly, daunting at first. But I soon found that the passion that I have for writing translated well to my students, some of whom come from across five majors within the department.
Take a look around and look at some of the classes I teach and things that I’ve done in my prior life. There are a handful of stories from when I covered FCS college football and the Peoria Chiefs as well as some broadcasting clips when I worked for the team.
As time goes on, I’ll be writing more here on whatever catches my attention, which can range anywhere from journalism and media related topics to sports to sports media-related topics.
